This year marked a special milestone for me as I had the privilege of volunteering at the Dallas Down Syndrome Guild Buddy Walk for the second time. Last year, I attended as Miss Dallas Teen USA, and this year, I returned as Miss Colleyville's Teen, proudly representing my nonprofit organization, Miles for Music, as an exhibitor!
Being able to share Miles for Music at this event was truly a rewarding experience. It was such an honor to play calming classical piano music for all the kids and their families who attended. The music seemed to bring a peaceful and uplifting atmosphere to the event, and it was heartwarming to see how the children responded.
I was also thrilled to read Confident Cupcake to the kids. The combination of music and story-time made the event even more special, creating an environment of joy and inclusivity for everyone.
Volunteering at the Buddy Walk once again reminded me of the power of community and the importance of supporting one another. I’m so excited to continue the journey of Miles for Music, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us in the future.
Thank you to the Dallas Down Syndrome Guild for hosting such an incredible event, and to everyone who helped make this year’s walk a success. I'm already looking forward to next year!
